Thanksgiving 400 Years Later: What this Missoula Mom Focuses On

After I had children, I found myself sitting in grief and anger for several years during the month of November. It was important that what I chose to teach and share with my children came from a place of resiliency and power. As an Indigenous woman it’s important my daughters witness their mother value our heritage, claim my power, and protect our culture.

The Front Steps Project

We are documenting this time by taking five-minute “Front Steps Portraits” of Missoula residents. Our in-house photographer Tiffany Williams with Tiffany Photography will spend Thursday, March 26 scurrying around town to snap super fast images of Missoula families on their front steps. Our goal is to document this interesting time and bring us together virtually since we can’t be together face to face.
