Rumour Fueling Rumors about Restaurant’s Future

Rumour is living up to its name, fueling all sorts of rumors and gossip about the owners’ new plans for the restaurant space.
We here at 406 Families love Rumour. We have spent many a business meeting sharing appetizers and hashing over details and plans for the website. We hosted Laci’s baby shower here this summer and have enjoyed their Monday special — a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine — too many times to count.
So when the restaurant unceremoniously closed their doors a couple of months ago with no prior warning, we mourned another possible beloved restaurant’s closure. The sign on the door promised new exciting things to come. But where would we be without the delicious stuffed dates, the swanky cocktails, and the upscale interior we had come to know and love?
Then, a sign of hope! Rumour posted on their Instagram, hinting at a new menu and reopened doors. But with few other clues to go by, we couldn’t take this post at face value. So we did some digging.
It looks like the owners applied for a Change of Use permit for a dispensary!
Which doesn’t exactly clear things up. Since cannabis and food can’t be sold on the same premises, we aren’t quite sure how these two businesses will meld in one address.
I guess we will have to wait and see.
