And just like that we have yet another way to express ourselves. Facebook unrolled their Avatar feature this week, allowing users to create personalized stickers. If the concept sounds familiar it’s a take on Bitmoji.

I spent a large chunk of my Friday night creating my Avatar and convincing Laci and a more-reluctant Charity to do the same.

Don’t have an Avatar? Don’t worry. We will guide you to creating one. Share it with us on our Facebook page. (These instructions were made using screenshots from my Facebook mobile app.

Step 1: Click the three horizontal lines and then the See More icon.

Step 2: Click Avatar. This will launch the Avatar app within Facebook mobile and move Avatar up within your most used apps, making it easier to access in the future.

Step 3: From there you can select skin tone, face shape, hair color, eye color, and other features. Click the Next button at the bottom of the page as you continue creating and click Done to start sharing. The next time you’re commenting on someone’s post, hit the stickers button (it looks like a smiley face) to use your Avatar.
