Raising Young Children? Share Your Story with Congress!
Do you know a family with a story about raising a young child who would be excited to urge Congress to be champions for babies?
ZERO TO THREE is recruiting a Montana family who would like to share their story with our Members of Congress about critical issues, policies and programs. On May 18th, families from all 50 states will meet with their Members of Congress as part of ZERO TO THREE’s national Strolling Thunder TM event! These families will meet virtually with their policymakers to remind them to Think Babies and invest in their youngest constituents.
There is no experience necessary. ZERO TO THREE will provide training and support to families before, during, and after their virtual meetings. Learn more at http://www.thinkbabies.org/strollingthunder.
Think Babies focuses on six key policy areas: paid leave; child care; Early Head Start; infant and early childhood mental health; family supports like child welfare services and home visiting; and economic security supports like food and nutrition services, the minimum wage, and diaper supplies. Tell us what you wish Members of Congress knew about what one or more of these policy areas means to your family.
We need a Montana family, so if you know a family with a child under age 3 who may be interested, please have them fill out this interest form by Friday, March 12th. If you or they have any questions, please read the FAQ or feel free to contact aperez@zerotothree.org. ZERO TO THREE will follow up with everyone who expresses interest by early April to let them know if they have been selected.
Help us make babies’ potential a national priority by sharing with your networks! Stay tuned for more opportunities to be a part of virtual Strolling Thunder!
