5 Easy Ways to Support Schools While You Shop
Schools have been thrown a curveball this year and can use all the help they can get. Luckily, there are easy ways you can help support them, just by doing your regular shopping!
Whether you are shopping for groceries, or ordering dog food online, here are five different options for making sure a portion of your purchases go to your local school.
Good Food Store
As you check out at the register, ask for the cashier to add the purchase to the account of a participating school and 2% of your purchase will go back to them. Many of the public and private schools (including some daycares and preschools) have “scrip” accounts at GFS!
Missoula Fresh Market
When you shop at Missoula Fresh Market, ask for an extra receipt and simply write your child’s school on your receipt and give it back to the cashier. They will donate 1% of your purchase to the participating school or their PTA.
Amazon Smile
Pretty sure we are all already shopping on Amazon, but if you start your shopping at smile.amazon.com you can select your favorite nonprofit to receive a portion of purchase! Most schools have a nonprofit “Parent Teacher Association” (aka PTA or PTO) but you may need to check with your school for their specific name (i.e there are lots of Franklin schools across the country, so ours is “5574 Franklin PTA.”)
Boxtops for Education
We’ve all seen the little “Boxtops”logo across our cereals and granola bars, but clipping them and mailing them in is a thing of the past. Now, using a handy little app right on your phone, you simply set your school, take a photo of your receipt, and ta-da, free money for your school! Ordering groceries online or via curbside pickup? No problem, just forward the receipt you receive in your email to receipts@boxtops4education.com.
Coca-Cola Give
When you purchase coke products, look under the bottle caps or on the box and scan or enter the code at the website! You will need to create an account and can find your local school or nonprofit via zip code. Shop for coke products and look under the bottle caps or on the box.
