What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is a national community- building campaign that promotes police- community partnerships. This evening is a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Missoula Police Department Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold shares why National Night Out is so important for our community:

“Missoula Police is invested in this event because we want to get to know our community and neighbors better and let the community get to know their local police department better. This is a time to come meet men and women of the department. See our special teams, try on, look at, test our special equipment, and showcase the variety of tools and techniques police use when responding to calls for service. We often meet people in a time of crisis, and we don’t often get to meet people who don’t need police services. We would also love to interact with those who have had contact with police in a time of crisis or in a not good situation or know someone who has and help bridge some of the feelings.”
