Nom-tana: Bitterroot Snowballs
Did you know if you switch the first three letters around in Montana, it spells Nom-tana? Since finding great noms is one of our favorite things, we decided to feature fun eateries in our summer Nom-tana series. Have a great place to share? Tell us all about it in the comments.
When hot weather hits, we reach for something sweet and cold, like an icy snowcone. Which is why we love Bitterroot Snowballs. This Hamilton-area food truck features the snowcone flavors you’d expect like pina colada and cotton candy.
But the real tour de force is the unexpected combinations and added ingredients. For example the Rainbow Trout boasts rainbow snow, stuffed with rainbow sherbert ice cream, and Swedish fish on top. On Memorial Day, the food truck featured the Star Spangled Banner snowball with strawberry, blueberry and wedding cake snow flavors, stuffed with vanilla ice cream, marshmallow cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, and topped with a mini Old Glory. How festive!
There are unicorn-themed flavors and Harry Potter-themed flavors and so much more. The stacks of flavor one piled on top of the other, makes their flavor board extravagant and completely original.
Prices range from $4-$6, but right now if you mention 406 Families, you get a free size upgrade!
