Many of Missoula’s local businesses are beginning to feature regular online events, classes, and workshops that you can do from home. This week’s edition of “Around Home” will be featuring those events and activities.

 

Throughout the week: Montana PBS has created an exciting online curriculum to support at home learning. This week’s schedule can be
found HERE with links to each activity.

Monday, April 13:

  • 1:00PM—1:30PM via Facebook Live Online Bug Encounters! with the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium. Can’t make this one? There’s another event on Wednesday, April 15 at 1:00pm as well!

Tuesday, April 14:

  • 10:30 AM – 11 AM via Zoom NatureWebs: Online Webinars for Kids with the Montana Natural History Center. These are free nature and science webinars through ZOOM for grades 3 – 5

Wednesday, April 15:

  • 10 AM – 10:30 AM Elsie Reads: A Facebook Live Event hosted by Empower Place. It's online story time! Elsie—the 4-year-old daughter of EmPower's AmeriCorps Leader, Ethan—will show you and your kids some of her favorite books!

  • 1:00pm—1:30pm via Facebook Live Online Bug Encounters! with the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium.

Thursday, April 16:

  • Make Straw Rockets with SpectrUM Discovery Area. SpectrUM staff have put together fun tutorials on how to create a straw rocket
    from home.

  • 10 AM – 7 PM Virtual Wildwalk hosted by the International Wildlife Film Festival—“This year we are going virtual with WildWalk! Dress up,
    paint your face, make a critter using cardboard - whatever it is, do it from your quarantine and show us what you got. Tag your photos and upload them to Facebook or Instagram and tag them #iwff2020 and we will add them to our virtual parade.”

Sunday, April 19:

  • Check out the Missoula Art Museum’s online family art workshops! From Skyscapes to Recycled Self-Portraits, these workshops can be done with
    materials from home.
