What moms should hear this Mother's Day

Every Mother’s Day this is true, but especially this one: Many times moms carry the unseen workload of managing a household. We budget, grocery shop, we prepare meals, we clean, we shuttle, we suffer over our children’s emotional development. These past couple of months, we’ve added full-time educators to our pile.

And despite all the challenges, we’re doing it. Sometimes we’re doing it with our three-day unwashed hair tied into a mom bun with an old sweater on, but we’re doing it. It’s unglamorous, thankless work sometimes. When you feel unseen, know that we see you. We see the hard moments and the tears and we see the radiant happiness and the smiles.

Give a mom a chance to talk about how hard she works and she will shift uncomfortably. Ask a mom to brag about her mom friends, and she gushes. When we asked moms to nominate a friend for a Mother’s Day giveaway package loaded with goodies, here’s what they had to say.

Esther M:

"Keturah continues to inspire me as a creative, caring, patient, and engaged mama!"

Cate G:

"My Grandma Stacey always puts everyone in her life first; she is the most selfless person I have ever met. She has been my best friend since before I can remember. I have never had to fight any battle alone, I have someone I can trust with anything, and someone who is my biggest supporter. She’s the best Gigi to my children, and the worlds best person, ever."

Katie B:

I nominate Sarah Naseem, who just survived a subarachnoid hemorrhage, is an outstanding teacher, wife, mother, and friend.

Susan T:

I nominate my mom, Madalyn Tower. She is my best friend, the best mom, and is such a perfect example of beauty, grace, intelligence, and pure grit. She deserves all the pampering we can give her.

Kristi B:

I nominate Jenna Hendrickson she is such an amazing momma! She is a nurse manager and has been working long hours over the last several months!

Kristen S.

Wow! My bestie Michelle Billings has inspired me while we were pregnant at the same time and as we have both grown as moms together! So kind, welcoming and not judgey at all even when I have my mom fail moments.

We hope sharing these sentiments inspired you to reach out to a mom friend and let her know she’s seen, she’s valued, she’s wonderful.

Happy Mother’s Day, moms.
