Bicycle Accessories
Spring is here and it’s almost time for that first ride of the year if you haven’t been out already. Filling an Easter basket with a new (or new to you) set of knee and elbow pads along with a helmet is a great way to get prepare for a season of bike riding. Want to add some more excitement? Purchase a set of bicycle wheel lights and your kiddo will light up! Did you know that you we have an awesome community bike shop, Free Cycles, offers free or by-donation bikes for kids?

Kids Cooking Supplies
We recently shared an article about Kids in the Kitchen to include tips and helpful cooking supplies. You could definitely fill a basket with kitchen goodies for your little chef including an apron, cooking utensils and even a few food items (real or fake). 406 Families co-founder Charity Stubb’s sister in law has a number of adorable handmade kids aprons for sale like the one below… check them out here. Looking for inexpensive kid friendly cooking utensils? Check out Walmart or Target, they have a great selection of silicone cooking utensils in a variety of colors.

Gardening Supplies
Whether you have a backyard area to garden or just a patio space, you can grow fruit, veggies and herbs from home. Purchase some seeds and gardening soil for your child’s basket or some paint, paintbrushes and collect rocks to make your own plant markers. Check out our tutorial about starting seeds with supplies you have at home.

A Monthly Creativity Kit Subscription
Companies like KiwiCo have created a monthly subscription for kids of all ages to learn and explore. Kits include all the supplies needed to complete an art project, STEM project or other learning project along with kid-friendly instructions and age appropriate projects from age 0 and up!

Other Subscription Services
Tiffany has recently started subscribing to Universal Yums so give her kids a bit of culture while they’re stuck at home. Each month you get a box of snacks from another country, plus descriptions of each snack and the culture significance. This month’s box was Italy and the tiramisu candies were SO GOOD. Kids delight in getting mail, so signing them up for other subscription services and letting them know they’ll be getting something special is a great surprise on Easter.

Sports Gear
We’re not just talking about the typical sports ball, either. If you have a basketball hoop at home, did you know you can find a glow in the dark net on Amazon? Or how about a Bluetooth football for your tween or teen. Or you can get ready for baseball/softball season with a new glove and helmet from any one of our local sporting goods stores. Also, check out our guide to Little League in Missoula.

Art Supplies or Activities
It’s definitely sidewalk chalk season so adding a box of chalk is an inexpensive basket stuffer. Kids sewing machines or pottery wheel kits are a great way to craft together and learn a new skill. Another great Easter basket gift is a class or take-home activity from one of our local organizations like ZACC or The Clay Studio.
