We miss sharing Missoula’s exciting events in our weekly “Around Town” so we’ve decided to switch it up and focus on things you can do “Around Home”—including some local businesses offering activities for pick up or delivery! We’ve rounded up a few suggestions to help ease the boredom for parents and children.

Missoula County Public Schools has done an incredible job of providing information and activities to supplement their school curriculum and keep children entertained. For those who prefer routine, they’ve also included suggestions for age appropriate daily schedules. You can view that information here

For those celebrating Easter next Sunday April 12th, we’ve included a few egg-cellent activities to get started!

Toddler or Preschool

  • Spring is here so why not create your own flowers and go on an alphabet flower hunt! You’ll need foam flowers from the dollar store or you can create your own out of paper. Write each letter of the alphabet on each flower and place them around your yard. You can have your toddler search for the flowers by color if they’re not quite ready to identify letters yet.

  • What an egg-citing way to have lunch! Celebrate Easter early with an Easter egg lunch by putting bite sized foods into plastic eggs and serve them in an egg carton.

Elementary Age:

  • It’s likely you remember making rock candy when you were a kid. Why not show your kiddo how to make this sugary treat. Forgot how? Here’s a
    great recipe.

  • Science can be egg-stra fun with these Egg experiments!

Middle or High School Age:

  • Get crafty with your teen or tween and help them kick the boredom blues with these fun Quaran-Teen Bored Jars.

  • “Egg” a friend’s yard. Have your teen or tween fill a dozen eggs with notes, candy or something else exciting. Have them hide
them in their friend’s front yard and then leave a note letting them know they’ve been
“egged”. Here’s a tutorial with free printables.
