This weekend is filled with exciting activities, from the WildWalk to the Run for the Trees… there’s something for everybody!
Friday, April 22:
9:00AM-10:15AM Family Fun Time at Mismo Gym
2430 Benton Ave
This is a one-hour open gym time for kids walking to 12 years of age. You and your child will get to explore our facility in a supervised atmosphere. Come play in our gym, which features foam pits, trampolines, obstacle courses and so much more.
Preregistration on our website is necessary to participate each day.
10:30AM Preschool Playtime at Roots Acro Sports

Preschool Playtime is a favorite for kids and parents alike. For playtime, our gym becomes your playground. We set up fun stations and activities throughout the gym. Parents and children choose the activities that interest them most, including obstacle courses, pit games, trampoline time, swinging, sliding, and climbing. Every time you come it's a new fitness adventure.

We are a hands-on learning center located at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center dedicated to nourishing the bodies and minds of local children and families. One part community center, one part science museum, one part food hub, and one part library, there is something for every learner at EmPower Place! Rich with science exhibits from spectrUM, literacy and STEM programming, and books from the Missoula Public Library for children, young adults, and parents, EmPower Place offers enriching experiences free of charge to all Missoula families.

10:00AM Run for the Trees

Run Wild Missoula & Missoula Parks & Recreation are excited to invite the community to the annual Run for the Trees! Come out and show your support for Missoula’s Urban Forests! The 1-mile fun run is FREE! The 5K & 10K are also FREE to children 10 & under. In the spirit of being green, all 10k & 5k participants will receive a tree sapling!

There will be a pre-draw for this baby shark! This class is open to painters aged 8 and older. Registration required.
10:00AM Make a Mask for Wildwalk at the Missoula Public Library

Make a Mask for WildWalk: 10 am in the Art Box, Missoula Public Library Come make a wild animal mask to celebrate the 45th annual International Wildlife Film Festival! Kids can make their masks and then walk down to Higgins Ave. and the WildWalk parade.
10:30AM Story Time at the Missoula Public Library

Story Time is for children ages 3 and older and their caregivers. Join us on Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30 AM for stories and fun in the Art Box on level two. Story Time will be recorded and posted online at a later date on the library’s official website and YouTube channel.
11:00AM Wildwalk Downtown Missoula
The WildWalk Parade leaves the First Interstate Bank Building on Higgins and Front Street at 11:00 am. Gather on the East side of the building in the parking lot at 10:30. Please arrive early to settle in and join the fun. Be ready to strut your stuff at 11:00 am or grab a seat along the street to gawk. The WildWalk celebrates our connection to the WILD and everyone is encouraged to join the pack and wear a costume that celebrates your favorite wild animal. The WildFest begins when we get to the XXXX’s and officially kick-off of the 2022 film festival! Music and food trucks cap off the morning before the films begin rolling.
12:00PM MUD’s Earth Day Celebration

MUD's Earth Day Celebration will honor and showcase Missoula’s vibrant sustainability community. The festival will feature an environmental expo, activities and workshops for children and adults, and educational programs, as well as food, drinks, and local music. We will once again be hosting the 2022 festival at MUD, Home ReSource, and adjacent properties.

Saturdays from February 12 through June 4 // 12:30 to 3 PM // FREE
The classroom at MAM is stocked with materials for middle and high school students to use for completing art assignments from school or simply to create projects of their own. A MAM staff member and college intern will be on site for each session. No RSVP required—drop in when you can! Limited to 12 students and COVID protocols are in place.
1:00PM Stop Animation for Kids with MCAT

Stop Animation Workshop is suitable for kids around the ages of 9 to 13. Kids will work with cameras, animation software and green screen special effects. This activity is great for kids who want the choice of working on their own, or in groups to do live action skits, music and voice-overs. The free workshop goes from 1pm to 3pm. This event is every Saturday at 1pm through June 25, 2022.
2:00PM Hands on Science: Aliens and Outer Space at SpectrUM

Join spectrUM for guided science activities at our Discovery Bench from 2 to 6 Tuesday through Saturday. This week we are learning about aliens and outer space. No registration required. The spectrUM Discovery Area is open for visitors of all ages to explore science through engaging exhibits and activities. spectrUM has moved into the Missoula Public Library and offers free admission for all, please join us at 455 East Main Street.
2:00PM Animal Wonders visits the Library

Celebrate Missoula’s International Wildlife Film Festival when Animal Wonders visits the Library! Join the animal ambassadors of Animal Wonders to see and learn about the wildlife they care for. 3:00PM D&D Guild for Teens

Are you stuck at home, yearning to satisfy your appetite for adventure? Great news, our Teen D&D Guild is meeting online! MPL offers Dungeons & Dragons for teens aged 12-17. Beginners are welcome! Limited to 8 participants per session. Teen games will be held every other Saturday from 3-5 PM on Zoom. These games are ongoing.
