Summer Camps That Still Have Openings

While some summer camps had waitlists a mile long this year, these popular Missoula camps still have space when we last checked! Plenty for procrastinators! So grab your calendar and let’s get ready for summer!

Big Sky Preschool Academy 2021

About: STEM camps with themes like oceanography and astronauts with activities, art, snacks, and more.

Boys and Girls Club
Ages:
Students entering 1st-8th grade
About: This year we are making an effort to be outside as much as possible, and offering a more Summer Camp-like experience. We have a lot of field trips to different lakes, landmarks, and adventures planed! Sliding fee scale based on household income.

Historical Museum at Fort Missoula

Ages: 8-13 year olds for History Camp, Children entering 5th through 12th grade for Junior Docent Program
About: There are two fantastic options for summer camps at Fort Missoula. Our History Camp invites budding history detectives ages 8-13 to join us in adventures around the Fort and beyond! For older kids who want to give back to their community while learning about our history, we have our Junior Docent Program. The Junior Docent Program is free but requires that campers complete community service.

Learning with Meaning
A few of the early summer dates are booked, but there are still openings at some super fun camps throughout the summer!
About: Learning With Meaning offers three types of fun summer camps: Forest School (Grade K-2), Naturecraft (Grade 3-12) and Innovate camps (Grade K-9). Forest School will gather on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-3:30 p.m. (June 21-July 16 / July 26-August 20). Naturecraft and Innovate camps are full-week day camps. Get your kids in the great outdoors this summer and learn how to hunt, gather, survive and thrive in the woods with our skilled camp counselors. Missoula Family YMCA
Ages
: 4 and up
About: YMCA Summer Camp offers 30+ camps including sports, crafts, adventure, culinary, learning-loss prevention, and more! Care and camp programming offered Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, and snack included. Financial assistance is available. Check out the full summer camp guide here. Camp Fire
Ages:
K-5th grade
About: Each day is different, but will include opportunities for play, academic enrichment with an emphasis on arts and sciences, snacks, arts and crafts, and friends, as well as physical activity and reading opportunities. Studies have shown that students who read at least 20 minutes a day, will maintain their academic growth.

Turner Farms
Ages: 6-13
About:
Camps will run from 9-2pm Monday-Friday (except the Sprout Camp). Farm camp will be a comprehensive week of agricultural education with an emphasis on local sustainable productions. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about small scale animal production by working with chickens, goats, cows, and sheep.
