Reflections: An Exercise Attitude Shift

I used to believe that if I couldn't stick with a workout program, I lacked willpower and commitment to my health. This would often lead to long periods where I wouldn't move my body, and I'd punish myself with negative self-talk and often food. It's amazing how diet culture has sold us this lie that we're the problem. That everything stems from us not being good enough.

What if we're just bored? What if that type of movement doesn't serve us anymore? What if we take it as an opportunity to try something different instead of feeling like a failure?

When did we start believing that to take care of our bodies, we need to punish them? Movement and taking care of our bodies can look different every day. It's okay to try different things. It's okay to start and stop whenever you need to. So I challenge you to ask yourself, what do you really want to do? What feels good to you?
